The Piedmont Melody Makers play old-time, country and bluegrass music and make no apologies for it. They take their name from the Piedmont region of eastern North Carolina, where three-quarters of the band now resides. One-quarter of the band is a known vagabond.
Forty Acres Concerts is very happy to introduce the Piedmont Melody Makers to the Five Oaks stage on Saturday, May 9 at 8:00 p.m.
Featuring the incomparable Grammy nominee Alice Gerrard alongside folks stalwarts Jim Watson, Cliff Hale and Chris Brashear, this band is a whos who of North Carolina purveyors of old-time, country and bluegrass music.
Jamming together for years, they have formalized their union with a recording, Wonderful World Outside, a sixteen-track compilation of original tunes and covers.
Doors open at 7:30 p.m. and showtime is at 8. Tickets are $20, available through this handy link, or $25 at the door, if available. Hope to see you there!
